One of the most callenging for tour guide or a driver  is to do the pick up before the tour. Most of the Hotels in Kuala Lumpur had a narrow foyer, normally Hotel management not allow the tour guide park their vehicle at the front of Hotel to avoid blocking the flow of others vehicle. This is very troublesome for tour guide/ driver either to make one big circle or to park the vehicle somewhere else and walk to the Hotel.

Thru out my experiance some of the tourist not border to follow the pick up time and still having a breakfast at the Hotel. The best excuse they giving because the time diffrent, if the time diffrent more than 5 hours we still can understand, but its only 2 hours diffrent for us its too much. Its show particular tourist not respect us as their tour guide. At least curtosy give us call or text to us that you will a bit late for pick up.

Your tour guide also a normal human being who have a feeling, some of us need to start travel at 600am just to make sure they in time. No one like to wait, how you felt if your driver late to do the pick up?

USD old currencyThose who came from USA or using USD currency when travelling, make sure you not bring any old USD currency otherwisw you will not able to exchange it with Malaysian currency.

All the money exchange company and the Bank wont accept this currency especially USD100 notes. The diffrent within the USD old currency with a new one is the head of President is much more bigger for a new one, the old one is smaller as you can see in the picture.

Before you book the tour thru your travel agent or tour counter in the Hotel, you need to ask what type of tour they provided? There are two type of tour they provided

  1. SIC - seat in coach where you with another group tourist will do the tour together in Mini Van or Bus.
  2. Private Tour - only you and your family member in the group.

You might wondering which one is the best? Its depends on your budget, if you looking for cheap and no bother sharing the tour with others, SIC or seat in coach will be a best way but if you wanted to have privacy and more personalize tour private tour will be the best.

I been asked several time by my guest about the weather in Kuala Lumpur before they do the tour. I hope I can answer that question, unfortunately no body can predict the weather even our meteorology department can wrongly predict the weather.

But here is a basic guide about the weather condition in Kuala Lumpur. As a tropical country, Kuala Lumpur have a rain almost everyday even during dry season (April - October), the rain normally start somewhere in afternoon 3pm till 6pm and its last 1 - 2 hours only but very rare last more than 2 hours.

During Monsoon season (November - March) the rain will a bit longer and inconsistance. Its can rain in the morning, afternoon or night. The rain will much more longer especially if you visiting East Coast and North Malaysia.

Finally on 1st December, 2011 after been closed for more than 2 month PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Bridge and observation deck reopen for public.

Currently its only offer 1 package only, with the ticket prices RM50 you will get to visit a Sky Bridge and level 86 observation deck. Some of my guest asked me, why we can go to level 88. According to staff, level 87 and 88 reserved for water tank and lift motor, I am not sure about that but that the answer I giving to my guest.

1.      Number of days you will tour in Kuala Lumpur. If spending more than four days in the Kuala Lumpur only, it’s just a big waste. Plan yourself to do day trips outside Kuala Lumpur such as Malacca, Cameron Highlands, Kuala Gandah Elephants Sanctuary and Kuala Selangor Fireflies.
