Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur

petronas-twin-towers-photosPETRONAS Twin Towers was official opened by Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammad in 31 August 1999. Since that the towers become a Kuala Lumpur landmarks and a symbol of Malaysia's social economy progress and achievement, it's also a symbol of aspiration and ambitions of Malaysia to become a develop country by year 2020. This twin building is a home for Malaysia Petroleum Company also known as Petroliam Nasional Berhad or PETRONAS. PETRONAS is ranked among the FORTUNE Global 500 largest corporations in the world, engaged in the broad spectrum of oil and gas operation in more than 30 countries.

The idea to build this tower came from Malaysia 4th Prime Minister Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammad that wanted the PETRONAS Twin Towers must be unique and can be recognizing as icon of Malaysia by people around the world like Eifel Tower in France or Great Wall in China.

Standing at 452 m (1483 feet), designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates from USA, the tower was build on the former horse racing track at Jalan Ampang, fully completed in 1997, PETRONAS twin towers became the highest twin building in the world on date of completion before the places been taking over by Taipei 101.

Kuala Lumpur Tower

kl-towerKuala Lumpur Tower or Menara Kuala Lumpur in Bahasa Malaysia located on top of Bukit Nenas, its was officially open by Malaysia Prime Minister  Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammad in October 1996. The construction started in 1991 and it's taken 4 years to complete. The construction began in October 1991 and fully completed in May 1996. Build in 3 phases, this including the excavation of soil from the construction site, construction of the foundation and basement of the tower, and the construction of the superstructure. Kuala Lumpur Tower was designed to stand wind pressure up to 90 mph. Build to enhance a quality of TV and Radio broadcasting and telecommunication in Kuala Lumpur city and Klang Valley, it's also been use by Malaysian Police to monitor traffic situation in Kuala Lumpur.

If we view from far Kuala Lumpur tower will look like old Olympic Torch but the design are reflected on Islamic architecture. Standing at 421 meter Kuala Lumpur Tower become the fifty tallest towers in the world after  the CN Tower in Canada, the Ostankino Tower in Russia, the Oriental Pearl Tower in China, and the Borj-e Milad in Iran. Observation Deck located at 276 meter is the best places to view Kuala Lumpur scenery compare to Petronas Twin Tower. Surronding by nature tropical forest as a forest reservse since 1906, visitor also can see the 100 years Jelutong Tree (Dyera Costulata).

Kuala Lumpur Railway Station

kuala-lumpur-old-railway-stationDesigned by Arthur Benison Hubback, competed and fully operational on 1st August 1910. Design of Kuala Lumpur railway station influence by Moorish and Mughal style. Total cost to build the station RM 23000.00. In 1997 the operational of railway station has been transfer to KL Sentral station.
