There are two main LRTs (STAR and PUTRA LRT) that run around, above and under the city and are managed by a privatized company called RapidKL, the biggest public transportation company in Kuala Lumpur. The LRT networks interchanges in a few stations across the city to enable commuters to go to different places easily. Another public train system is the Monorail that takes commuters along the stretch of the Golden Triangle from Titiwangsa to the KL Central station. By Public Busses
Although the fares are cheap, public busses is not a favourite among Kuala Lumpur tourists as they are quite slow to reach a preferred destination. However, there are shuttle bus services that you can hire if you came to the city via a travel agent as they can charter a bus or mini vans for you and your entourage to move around in Kuala Lumpur. Another great option is to get on the double decker KL Hop-on-Hop-off bus that will take you to more than 40 tourist’s attractions for sightseeing for less than RM25 for day’s ride.
By Foot
If you prefer a more challenging way to move around Kuala Lumpur, you can always go places on foot as well, take you time to snap pictures at memorable places and really bask the hot sun to improve your tan lines. All you have to do is pack in your city map, put on your best walking shoes, apply a sunblock onto your skin and bring along a bottle of water so you will not get dehydrated from all the walking.
